Crowded parking lot at the Coudersport Consistory. Building in the background was the carriage house for the Isaac Benson family and still stands today
Scottish Rite. Powerful regional masonic order. There is a prof at Mansfield that has figured out some of its hidden history. I recall Bob Merten's crusade to get them to admit Blacks. I also recall the Aunt Jemima stereotype presiding over a big pancake feed there, and the gospel group Wings Over Jordan performing in the auditorium. And of course as a teenager the parking lot was a goldmine for collecting a list of state license plate sightings.
